Born sometime in the mid-'60s in Middlesex, Jamie bought his first Slade single in 1972. He graduated via the Beatles to the Gang of Four and Slits, and nowadays enjoys Funkadelic, Roland Kirk, Charley Patton and Davey Graham. He wears his musical eclecticism like a badge of pride, sometimes down the Co-Op.
He has written for various well-known music periodicals and compendiums, some of which, despite his best efforts, are still extant. He's also Chief Columnist for A Kick Up the R's fanzine, an alternative view of QPR Football Club.
Jamie has released a few largely neglected records and done some day jobs neglectfully. He writes short stories, draws cartoons, and one day will pen his novel, if they'd only shut up and let him get on with it.
He also loves art and photography, alcohol, good TV, travel, graphic novels, good vegetarian food, and especially films. His favourites include Wages of Fear, Down By Law, Cries and Whispers, I'm All Right, Jack, and The Honeymoon Killers. Jamie thinks that the 21st century is going to have to go some to top Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
Jamie lives in Brighton with a lady and a fox terrier, and goes to the gym about three times a week.
