"I can't tell you, cos I don't want to bring you down" - so goes the chorus to Attic Lights' latest single. In the context of this single there's practically nothing they could tell you that would bring you down, such is its phenomenally infectious pop sensibilities.

"You have bowel cancer," "I'm afraid Bros are reforming" and "This is the three minute warning - go and hide under your mattress if it makes you feel better" could all be stuffed into song by Attic Lights and still sound like a the most stunning sonnet you've ever heard, guaranteed to lift your day. If they managed to get a decent rhyme out of bowel cancer while doing it, they'd get a gold star.

None of which tells you too much. Suffice to say that in this solitary song there are elements from the greatest moments of pop. There's the drum beat from Leader of The Pack, the harmonies of The Beach Boys and a chorus that is as uplifting as a helium lined wonderbra.

Hailing from Glasgow, you'll be unsurprised to learn that Attic Lights also follow a similar path as fellow Scots The Yummy Fur, Belle and Sebastian, Bis and oh I don't know, Shop Assistants. So there you have it, classic catchy pop. Attic Lights, in the words of Suicidal Tendencies "you can't bring me down."
