Cerys is back! The debut single from Cockahoop is sensational. The rock chick gone bad has recovered and by the sound of it has moved on from her Catatonia days. That's not to say her distinctive voice could ever be distinguished from days of old - Caught in the Middle has something of the Strange Glue vibe about it.

Musically it is simplistic but effective - the blend of acoustic guitar and brass instruments makes the single, and only Cerys' vocals could knit the mix together seamlessly and effortlessly.

The lyrics "truth be told I've been sad and lonely" suggest bitterness, maybe at her personal failings over the past few years. However her delivery is something else, Caught in the Middle is almost a cathartic exercise from Cerys - and you can picture her beaming smile just through listening to the song. And that can't fail to leave you with a smile on your face.
