Swedish pop marvels The Concretes are just the band to rescue us from a Christmas of novelty records - Warm Night may not have much to do with the festive season but it creates that lovely cosy feeling that makes you want to gaze out over a field of snow.

The orchestral sway of the EP's title track is a perfect antidote to these cold evenings, with Victoria Bergsman's voice guaranteed to put a glow in your soul. The song has a sad, wistful air to it and, as it progresses, a great backing chorus rises up out of nowhere to create something quite uplifting. It's like a more palatable Polyphonic Spree, but without the scary robes.

With Warm Night comes two brand new, suitably excellent songs, Lady December and The Warrior and a new version of album track Seems Fine. A single to buy and curl up with.
