The Cooper Temple Clause, one of 2002's most hyped acts so far, offer up another single from their debut album See This Through And Leave.

Front man Ben Gautrey's vocals owe much to Liam Gallagher and the backing music reminds of Oasis's more interesting moments, improved by inventive arrangements and instrumentation. Jazz guitar riffs, brass sections and huge, bombastic chorus all leave the impression that The Cooper Temple Clause are really rather good.

Contrived key changes are easily forgivable, but an unmemorable melody is less so. All in all though, they're trying to make guitar rock sound slightly more interesting, so hats must be removed for them. Check them out on tour during April for an ear-splitting, frenetic experience.
