Once in a while a DJ decides to poke a bit of fun at the record industry and general public by proving that you can get any old bit of tat into the charts if you plug it hard enough. The culprit this time is Radio One's delightful Scott Mills, who has taken up the cause of The Hoffmeister.
Originally destined solely for release in Australia, Jump In My Car's tongue-in-cheek, ridiculously cheesy video went around the world on email and forum postings at lightning speed. The song itself is pretty much what you'd expect from a novelty record, and doesn't stand that well without the video. But what the hell, we all need a bit of mindless fluff once in while. Although you can't help wondering if the Hoff is actually in on the joke.
You'll either think this is a delicious slice of irony, or an absolute monstrosity, but it's certainly not something you'll forget hearing. As for the Hoff himself, some of you may want to jump in his car, quite a few of you will quite happily want to jump on his head, but either way you have to wonder whether or not the man himself is jumping the couch!
