Klonhertz - Three Girl Rhumba (Southern Fried)
release date: 17 November 2003
Klonhertz - Three Girl Rhumba
Elastica's Connection contains a riff we all know and love. Dom Joly knew it, and was only to happy to have the track as the main theme for his Tigger Happy TV. It was only a matter of time, then, before the riff was incorporated into a dance track, and Klonhertz have done just that.

It's heavy and infectious, and is likely to be every bit as successful as its labelmate release Are You Ready For Love (which is saying a lot, given that it reached the dizzy heights of number one in the UK singles chart). Italians Klonhertz keep things interesting with some guest vocals from Sean Kelly. His is a an almost-spoken, cockney delivery, which refreshingly remains more '80s pop than anything Streets or Dizzee Rascal.

Although some of the lyrics lean rather too heavily towards teen angst ("forgive me father, why should you bother" for example), Three Girl Rhumba is a fine calling card for a band with a big future ahead of them.
