On The Horizon - a smiley "drive-time" number - is acoustic guitar, drums and piano cheered on by stacatto horns, with lyrics about the promise of new love.

At first it seemed like a suprising choice of second single when heard in the context of Melanie's underrated album Reason, but it functions fine as a piece of solo pop-marketing.

However functioning fine isn't enough for comeback Mel. Although Horizon will grow on you eventually, in the end this upbeat number will be a let-down for her.
