There can't be another more musically diverse place on Earth than Brooklyn right now. Whether it be the disco of Hercules & Love Affair, the 'West Side Soweto' of Vampire Weekend or the futuristic synth pop of this duo, you can't accuse the New York suburb of having a generic sound.

One of the highlight of the excellent Oracular Spectacular album from earlier this year, Electric Feel struts and sways like Prince in his pomp. The falsetto vocals may bring to mind Scissor Sisters, and there are all manner of squiddly little Daft Punk-alike sound effects, but it still feels remarkably fresh and original.

Whether this summer shapes up to be blisteringly hot or (more likely) a bit of a damp squid, this is likely to be one of the musical highlights of the coming months.
