They've been about for a few years already, but Nada Surf's new single The Way You Wear Your Head suggests they've lost none of their passion and, rather, are now ready to take their power-pop songwriting ethic to the world.

It's a great single, full of hooks and a festival-friendly vibe, written by the three-piece and performed slickly - and weighing in at just over three minutes, this should secure some valuable radio play.

While so many guitar bands around just now seem to forget that the quality of the songwriting matters more than the quality of their sneering and posing, Nada Surf have the balance just about bang on. Great stuff.
