The Neptunes (Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams) plus "childhood friend" Shay, together N*E*R*D, have worked with P-Diddy - but don't hold it against them, as on the evidence of this single, they rock.

Known more as producers than as artists in their own right, they've worked with the likes of Britney, Kelis and Limp Bizkit in their quest for popular diversity.

And Rock Star, while heading in the same direction as The Music recently went with The People by rocking pop music to its very core, features dirty-sounding rock, r&b and digitised dance music all in the same song. The thinking seems to be that somebody has to like it - and they could well be right.
