Wot a shame that Darren Emerson's Underwater label released this lil' heartwarmer too late for St. Valentine's Day. Imagine cosying up to your own bundle of fun on Feb 14th and regaling them with Beautiful's sweetheart refrain: "You used to be beautiful / Now you look like shit."

Rude RKade (AKA Rune RK AKA Artificial Funk) releases this electro-shuffle that looks set to be spun ironically at catwalk shows from Milan, New York, and Japan (thanks Right Said Fred). Rude's rude record was passed on by label Skint, which may be to Underwater's gain, as Beautiful has enough freaky individuality to warrant nuff' nite-time airplay.

The acid mixes switch the tempo with plenty to keep 303 lovers interested, but the solid impersonal face-off of the original mix is tuff to beat. Good stuff, but something tells me this won't think be requested on Simon Bates' Our Tunes in the future.
