Madame Helga suggested that the Stereophonics were returning to their heavier Bartender and the Thief Days. Maybe Tomorrow shows that this is not quite the case. The second single from You Gotta Go There to Come Back is a mellow yet upbeat number and essentially picks up from where Mr Writer left off.

An eerie guitar synth effect underlies the track, making Maybe Tomorrow perfect for an after club chill out tune, and works just as well as drive time music. This single encapsulates the fact that Kelly Jones and his group have moved on from J.E.E.P without switching styles, just clearly progressing.

Where bands such as Oasis have attempted and failed, the Stereophonics have embraced a more mature sound. Although fans of Performance and Cocktails may disagree, it seems to suit the Welsh rockers and Maybe Tomorrow is perfect evidence for this case.
