Having justifiably spent much of her semi-retirement away from the spotlight, choosing instead to indulge herself at her luxury homes in Zurich and the south of France; Tina Turner, as one of the oldest and most respected of singers has come back into the playground with her latest single, Open Arms.

Taken from Turner's forthcoming All The Best collection - her first release since her 1999 studio album, Twenty Four Seven - Open Arms is pure Tina. It's a warm, melodic song with wonderfully layered harmonies and Turner's irresistible, vehemently felt vocals. It captures Tina at her happiest time and proves just how powerful and elated she is in the forty-forth year of her hugely-successful career yet she still manages to retain her commercial appeal.

Contradicting the spoilt, whiny pop stars who currently overcrowd the charts and who are younger enough to be her grandchildren; Tina Turner proves that despite her grand old age of 64 you don't need excessive budgets, ridiculously OTT press coverage and a barrage of assistants to make a single. All that is required is an abundance of soul, passion and talent - Open Arms is a welcome return.
