It's easy to see why such a big fuss was made about White Denim at this year's South By South West festival, in the band's home town of Austin, Texas.

The band's unkempt garage pop has all the requisite ingredients to make a critic salivate - rolling bass drums, a strong guitar riff and a good 'call and response' format, the response usually being "let's talk about it, let's react to it".

Whether this marks White Denim out as a distinctive enough band is another point, as their music is rooted heavily in the recent past, but when their tunes and guitars are as strong as this, you won't find many people complaining.
